Queen’s Hyperloop Design Team (QHDT) is hiring their executive team for the 2025-26 school year! Join our team in innovating sustainable technology of the future.

QHDT comprises 130 dedicated students from every undergraduate faculty and engineering discipline at Queen’s University. We strive to design a functional hyperloop pod—a vehicle travelling at the speed of a plane but at a fraction of the fuel costs—and a tunnel-boring machine each year. Every summer, QHDT competes at annual hyperloop competitions in Canada and Europe, and seeks to compete at the Not-A-Boring competition in the U.S. with its unique tunnel-boring designs.

Last year, QHDT won first place at the largest North American hyperloop competition, Hyperloop Global, and achieved a first place major award at the largest hyperloop competition in the world, European Hyperloop Week, for their socioeconomic research paper (more details about our recent successes on Instagram)! This year, QHDT is scheduled to race its pod and present its novel research at Hyperloop Global 2025—hosted locally by Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada—and at European Hyperloop Week 2025 in Gronigen, The Netherlands.

QHDT is organized into four branches:
